ExxonMobil Grant 2008

Dear all,

I’m pleased to inform you that our CREG research group has been awarded RM30,000 grant from ExxonMobil. This grant has been awarded to research proposal entitled Feasibility Study of Plasma Reaction in Converting Flare Gas to Synthesis Gas and C2+ hydrocarbons. In the research proposal’s summary has included the summary about how the project should be carried out. It mentioned, this research about Plasma Reaction is a new way to handle flare gas with the objective to reduce the greenhouse effect from flaring process. Besides, the conversion of natural gas into higher valuable products bring out the advantage economically. Dielectric barrier discharge plasma reactor wil be used and influence of the input voltage, flowrates and catalyst will be investigated.

Official letter from ExxonMobil dated 17th September 2008, did mentioned that the mock cheque presentation ceremony to be held on 12 November 2008.
